Mysuru:QSCIENZA – 2K18, the gala Science Festival organised by BASE PU College turned out to be a great opportunity for the young scientific minds to showcase their talents and compete at a larger forum.
About 60 teams participated in the written preliminary round, of which six teams qualified to the penultimate round in the competition. The qualifying teams had to strive intensely in the eight gruelling rounds in Science, Math and logical reasoning, to emerge as winners.
Dr. Swarnamala Sirsi and Dr. C.R. Nagendran, eminent Professors, were required to spend three arduous hours to accurately decide on the deserving winners in the Debate Competition.
In all, 12 participating teams contested on the highly debatable topics on Artificial Intelligence and Ethical Testing.
The valedictory function was attended by Dr. V.N. Balaji, Consultant, Jubilant Biosys Ltd., Surya Prakash, AVP, New Initiatives & Marketing, BASE Educational Services Pvt. Ltd., Dr. Swarnamala Sirsi, Associate Professor in Theoretical Physics, Yuvaraja’s College, Mysuru, Dr. C.R. Nagendran, Faculty, BASE PU College and Sangeetha Srinidhi, Principal, BASE PU College.

Debate
1st prize: M.G. Impana (Christ Public School); 2nd prize: P.C. Apeksha (JSS Public School, Siddarthanagar); 3rd prize: Sayed Nousheen (Police Public School).
JSS Public School, Siddarthanagar, bagged the Rolling Trophy of QSCIENZA- 2K18 as they scored maximum points.
