Mysuru: A quiz competition to create awareness among school students to save electricity was held at Sri Sharada Public School in city recently.
The event was organised by Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited (KREDL) under the energy conservation awareness programme of Central Government’s Bureau of Energy Efficiency.
Speaking on the occasion, KREDL Mysuru Division Project Officer D.K. Dinesh Kumar said, there is no threat to environment by generation of electricity from renewable sources.
He also dealt at length about production of electricity from solar energy which would help the nation to be self reliant on power sector.
Winners: M.J. Gurudarshan, V. Vishal Gowda, K. Skanda, M. Ayush, D. Shrunga, J.K. Vishak, C.N. Gagan and V. Varun bagged prizes in the quiz contest.
School Secretary Manjunatha Srivatsa, Principal K.P. Seema, Administrative Officer Gururaj, teachers Brinda, Shubhashini, Shivakumaraswamy and others were present during the programme.
