Wins Gold Medals in Boxing

Mysore/Mysuru:  U. Gagandeep Kumar, a promising boxer from Mysuru, has won two Gold Medals and a Bronze Medal  in the Inter-Club Boxing competition held in Mysuru and Bengaluru recently.

The 10-year-old lad is studying in fifth standard at St. Joseph’s Central School in Vijayanagar.

He won his first Gold Medal in the State-level Karnataka Urban Games Boxing Championship organised by Urban Games Association of Karnataka, in Mysuru, in the 37kg category.

Later in the similar competition in Bengaluru, he won his second Gold Medal. This was followed by a Bronze Medal in the competition organised by Gladiators Boxing Academy in Bengaluru.

Initially trained by former National Boxer Albert, now Gagandeep is being trained in Bengaluru by L. Anil Kumar, Founder-President of Gladiators Boxing Academy and in Mysuru under S. Jaswanth, who is Mysore University Kickboxing Coach. He is the son of R. Uday Kumar and K. Nithya of Mysuru.
