Mysuru: P. Pranav and Sidhant Gupta of 1st year PUC from BASE PU College, Mysuru, have won the 1st prize in the model-making competition for assembling a DIGITAL Compound Microscope with commonly available webcam and a laptop which would help students to observe specimens closely and project it on a screen to be observed by a larger group, as part of MEET and GREET PU Students Programme @ I-Fest 2018 organised by the Department of Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering, GSSSIETW, Mysuru.
In all, 16 teams competed with their various innovative models assembled with readily available common components. Pranav and Sidhant built a functional, portable and cost-effective model mimicking a Compound Microscope costing Rs.1,500 which won them the laurels.
