Wins Singles title in Pan India Master’s Badminton

Mysuru: Maleyanda Arun Poovaiah, a Badminton player of International repute, won the Singles title at the Pan India Master’s Badminton Championships held at Salem recently.

He had won similar Pan India Master’s Badminton Championships held at Hubballi, Pune, Panchkula and Bengaluru on earlier occasions.

He is also six times National Champion, Bronze (Sophia, Bulgaria) and Silver Medallist (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) at Senior World Badminton Championships.

A native of Nelji, close to Napoklu in Kodagu, Arun Poovaiah is presently based in Bengaluru and is involved in coaching budding Badminton players.
