Woes at Paschimavahini

Sir,

I wish to highlight various problems people face at Paschimavahini (near Srirangapatna) while on visit to immerse ashes of dead relatives there.

Vehicle parking is a big issue here.  Then a person follows you demanding ‘immersion charge’ of Rs.100 per pot, which seems a new levy. When  asked, we are told that it is for upkeeping the area, but a look at the surrounding proves it wrong.  No cleaning anywhere, what with flowers, torn clothes, plantain leaves, vermilion, other puja materials and leftover food haphazardly strewn around.

The entire area stinks so bad that one thinks of leaving the place as fast as possible.

Besides, stray dogs freely roam all over. Beggars too galore, not to say about the suppliers at a nearby food joint who politely demand tips for their entire team numbering around 15.

All these makes one vow not to visit the place again.  Will the concerned take note and initiate action to eliminate the hardships to people who are already aggrieved by losing a precious member in the family?
