Woman cheated of Rs. 7 lakh by FDA on the pretext of getting her daughter a Govt. job

Case registered against Woman and Child Development Department FDA

Mysore/Mysuru: Vijayanagar Police have registered a criminal case against the First Division Assistant (FDA) of the Woman and Child Development Department on charges of cheating Gram Panchayat former members of Rs. 7 lakh by promising to get her daughter FDA post in the Department.

The accused is K. Somaiah, a FDA at the Woman and Child Development Department in Vijayanagar 1st Stage, who was earlier serving as Panchayat Development Officer (PDO) at Srirampura Gram Panchayat (GP).

S. Kamakshi, a former member of Srirampura GP, knew Somaiah. As Kamakshi’s daughter had studied Diploma in Computer Science, Somaiah had told Kamakshi that he would get her daughter a FDA post in the Department and it would cost her Rs. 10 lakh. In October 2021, Somaiah had received Rs. 7 lakh from Kamakshi towards getting her daughter the job.

But when Kamakshi began to enquire about the job with Somaiah, he reportedly began to give evasive replies. In her complaint, Kamakshi has also stated that Somaiah had taken money from many people by promising them Government jobs and hence she was lodging a complaint.

Based on the complaint from Kamakshi on May 25, Vijayanagar Police, who have registered a criminal case against Somaiah, are investigating.
