Had given money to a confidant to return her loan taken to fund a film
Mysuru: A woman, who had given Rs. 13 lakh to a known person to return the loan she had taken to fund a film in which her son was playing the lead role, has been cheated as the known person has not returned the loan nor has returned her the money. The woman, who was cheated, has been identified as Manjula, a resident of Kuvempunagar and the accused has been identified as Dinesh.
In her complaint to Kuvempunagar Police yesterday, Manjula has stated that she had taken the loan to fund the film ‘Mandya to Mumbai’ in which her son Shekar was playing the lead role. As the film did not do well, huge losses were incurred and the financiers were demanding their money back.
Manjula, who managed to get Rs. 13 lakh to pay the financiers, had given the same to Dinesh to pay the financiers. But Dinesh has not paid the money to the financiers and has cheated her, she has stated in the complaint.
