Mysore/Mysuru: A woman allegedly committed suicide after writing on the wall and her hand, blaming her husband for taking the extreme step at Janathanagar in city.
Lakshmi (39), wife of Narayan, is the deceased woman, who had allegedly hung herself to the metal hook of the ceiling with her veil. The incident came to light on Friday night. She leaves behind a son and a daughter.
Following the domestic dispute, the couple was staying separately for the last five to six months. While the children were staying with their father, Lakshmi was residing all alone in the neighbouring house. With none to support her, she was finding it difficult to eke out a living, it is said.
Besides, the in-laws were allegedly abusing Lakshmi and telling her to return to her parents house. Amid this, Narayan had physically assaulted his wife.
Even though no death note was found in the house, it was written in Kannada on the wall of the house and also her (Lakshmi) hand, holding her husband responsible for the extreme step.
The incident came to light after her neighbours informed Police Control Room on Friday at around 8.15 pm.
The body was handed over to her relatives after post-mortem on Saturday.
In his complaint to Saraswathipuram Police, Lakshmi’s brother has accused his brother-in-law Narayan and mother-in-law Devamma for abetment to suicide.
According to Inspector Purushotham, a case has been registered under IPC Section 306 against Narayan and his mother.
