Mysore/Mysuru: An incident of a woman being cheated of Rs. 10.50 lakh in an online trading fraud has been reported from Bogadi in city recently. The Police said that the woman was offered a part time job and was later lured to invest in online trading promising more profit and was cheated.
On July 1, the victim received a message offering part time job on WhatsApp and the job was write reviews on various hotels on Google page for which they would pay her the money. She was also advised to invest on trading through the Telegram ID Dexter Manter@DEEDD621. The woman, who fell prey to the fraud, initially invested Rs. 1.20 lakh through her bank account and additional Rs. 9.30 lakh from her mother’s account before realising of her being cheated.
Later, she lodged a complaint at CEN Police Station based on which the Police have taken up the investigation. The Police have also requested people not to fall prey to such traps and have advised them to be careful while investing money online.
