Woman loses Rs. 42 lakh to online fraud

Mysore/Mysuru: In the latest case of online fraud reported in the city, a woman lost Rs. 42.80 lakh after she was promised higher returns on her investment.

Sangeetha, a resident of Chamarajapuram, is the one who lost her money. An online fraudster, who contacted Sangeetha through Telegram App, lured her into investing money for getting higher returns in a short time. Believing him, Sangeetha paid the fraudster a total of Rs. 42.80 lakh through online in instalments.

After coming to know that she was cheated, Sangeetha lodged a complaint with CEN Crime Police Station, who have booked a case and are investigating.
