Mysore/Mysuru: Miscreants have lifted a gold chain from the vanity bag of a woman, while boarding a bus at City Bus Stand on Feb. 16. The woman, who lost her gold chain, is 50-year-old Vijaya, a resident of Doora village in the taluk.
Vijaya, who attended the marriage ceremony of her sister’s daughter, came to City Bus Stand to go back to her village.
As there was a rush while boarding the bus, miscreants, who made use of the opportunity, lifted her 45 grams gold chain, which was kept in her vanity bag. Vijaya, who felt someone’s hand inside the vanity bag, checked it only to find the gold chain missing.
Suspecting it to be the handiwork of an unidentified woman, who was standing next to her, Vijaya has lodged a complaint with Devaraja Police on Feb. 17.
At Nanjangud: A resident of J.P. Nagar in Mysuru, who had gone to attend the Jatra of Maramma Temple at Gonahalli village in Nanjangud taluk, has lost her gold chain in the Jatra rush.
The woman, who lost her gold chain, is 68-year-old Lakshmamma. On Feb. 13, Lakshmamma, along with her family members, had gone to Gonahalli to take part in Maramma Jatra. The temple was crowded and when she entered the temple and came back, someone had lifted her 32 grams gold chain.
Biligere Police, who have registered a case on Feb. 17, are investigating.
