Woman ‘robbed’ of gold chain in bus

Mysuru: An unidentified woman, diverted the attention of a fellow passenger and allegedly stole the gold chain in a moving bus in the city recently. The woman, who lost her gold chain worth about Rs. 2 lakh, is  identified as C.N. Jyothi, a resident of Kuvempunagar in city.

Jyothi, who had gone to her parents’ house at Halagur in Malavalli taluk, returned to Mysuru in a bus and alighted at Jayachamaraja Wadiyar Circle (Hardinge Circle) on Monday night from where she took a city bus to reach the City Bus Stand.

While the bus was proceeding towards the bus stand, an unidentified woman, aged about 30 years, who was sitting on the front seat of the bus got up during which a few coins fell down. The woman then requested Jyothi to pick up the coins for her.

By the time Jyothi picked up the coins, the unidentified woman had alighted from the bus.

When Jyothi touched her neck, she found her gold chain missing and immediately lodged a complaint at Devaraja Police Station. Based on the complaint from Jyothi, Devaraja Police, who have registered a case, are investigating.
