Mysore/Mysuru: Bike-borne miscreants have snatched the gold chain of a 50-year-old woman in broad daylight near Jain Bhavan at Kakarawadi in city yesterday afternoon.
The woman, who lost her 20 grams gold chain worth Rs. 75,000, is Mangalamma of Kakarawadi.
Mangalamma, who had been to a shop, was on her way home, when two miscreants, who came on a bike from behind, managed to yank off only a part of the gold chain as she held on to her gold chain.
Lakshmipuram Police Inspector Gangadhar and staff, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar besides registering a case.
Chain snatchers, who were silent during lockdown period, have begun their illegal activity following lockdown relaxation. Lakshmipuram Police, who have collected CCTV footages, have launched a hunt to nab the miscreants.
