Womenfolk should get organised to sustain our culture: Actress Tara

Mysore/Mysuru: Noted actress Tara Anuradha said that womenfolk should get organised to save and sustain our rich culture and traditions.

She was speaking at the Silver Jubilee celebrations of Siddarthanagar Vasavi Mahila Samaja at Jaganmohan Palace in city on Sunday.

Observing that Arya Vysya community women are always in the forefront when it comes to following our culture and traditions, Tara said that such practices are the trademark of the community.

Pointing out that the Arya Vysya community members are more in number in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, she said that though trading is the vocational practice  of the community, it is notable that the community is a model when it comes to conduct of rituals and other religious practices.

Noting that it is a matter of pride for every Hindu that the Ram Mandir is finally coming up at Ayodhya, she called for organisation of the Hindu community to save our country’s pride, dharma and rich culture.

Earlier, city’s Kanyakaparameshwari Temple President S.K. Dinesh inaugurated the programme. Kanyakaparameshwari Co-operative Bank President H.M. Sandeep, Siddarthanagar Vasavi Mahila Samaja President Lakshmi Dinesh, Founder-President Kantha Subhash, Vice-President Pratibha Shantaram, Secretary Radha Gopinath, Treasurer C.S. Anitha and others were present. Artificial limbs were distributed to 10 specially abled on the occasion.
