Women’s Day at Mother Teresa Church

Mysuru: The International Women’s Day was celebrated in a grand manner at St. Mother Teresa Church, Rajivnagar,  Mysuru, amidst a large crowd of Parishioners, youth and children. Better Balance and Better World was the theme of the Day.

Sr. Jyothi Fernandes, the animator of the Parish Women Cell, spoke on the importance of Women’s Day and highlighted the role played by some of the courageous women of the Bible in a male-dominated society. 

Rev. Fr. Richard D’Almeida, SVD, the Parish Priest, placed before the audience the positive attitudes of Jesus Christ towards women  at a time when women and girls were kept within the four walls of the family with no freedom at all.

Thereafter, Women Cell group felicitated K.A. Soosy and  Margaret of the Parish for their immense contribution towards women empowerment and service to the downtrodden irrespective of caste and creed. They also honoured St. Vincent De Paul Society members for the help they give to the poor students and to families in distress. Elizabeth Livero compered the programme.
