Mysore/Mysuru: On the occasion of International Women’s day, two vaccination sites will be converted into pink booths to administer vaccine exclusively for women beneficiaries tomorrow (Monday).
Dr. L. Ravi, Reproductive and Child Health Officer and COVID-19 Immunisation Nodal Officer, said this was conveyed by Commissioner, Department of Health, Family Welfare and Ayush Services Dr. K.V. Thrilok Chandra to officers of all District Health Officers in a video-conference this morning.
Accordingly, Bannimantap Primary Health Centre and one vaccination site at District Hospital, both in City, will be converted into pink booths tomorrow to coincide with International Women’s Day. The staff members at the two vaccination sites will be women dressed in pink dress and the booths will be decorated with pink colour balloons. Just for a day, they will be converted into pink booths, he added.
Vaccination time
In all, 194 sites have been identified for vaccination which included 34 Private and 160 Government facilities. Vaccine will be administered from 10 am to 4 pm. While Urban PHCs and PHCs are given a target of 50 to 100 vaccinations per day, Taluk Hospitals 200 and District and Private Hospitals are given a target of 300 to 400 vaccinations.
The Government Hospitals have been given free hand in doing maximum number of vaccination, he added.
Dr. Ravi said healthcare workers and frontline workers who have not registered for the first dose or not got vaccinated despite registration, can now walk in to any Centre and get vaccinated.
