Mysuru-based Dhruthi T. Venugopal, representing India in the women’s ITF $15,000 Tennis Tournament at Bhopal, yesterday scored a good win in the women’s Singles first round and entered the pre-quarterfinals.
Dhruthi beat wild-card entrant Ganeshi Aniya (Ind) 6-0, 6-2 to progress further. In the women’s Doubles pre-quarterfinals, Dhruthi Venugopal and Riya Bhatia will take on Sai Samhitha Chamarthi and Shweta Chandra Rana on Tuesday.
In the women’s Singles pre-quarterfinals, Dhruthi will take on the winner of the tie between Ruthuja Bhosale and Zoe Gwen Scandalis.
