Women’s ITF $15,000 Tennis: Dhruthi goes down to Tereza Mihalikova

Mysuru-based women’s tennis player Dhruthi T. Venugopal, representing India in the Women’s ITF $15,000 Tennis Tournament at Bhopal, yesterday went down fighting to second seeded Slovakian Tereza Mihalikova 6-7(2), 3-6 in the semi-final Women’s Singles tie which lasted for one hour and thirty five minutes.

Tereza Mihalikova will now meet Great Britain’s Emily Webley Smith in the finals slated for Saturday. Emily Webley Smith got the better of India’s Kanika Vaidya 6-3, 6-4 in the other semi-final.

Dhruthi got 52% of her first serves in while Tereza got 74% of her first serves in. Tereza won 91% of her service games while Dhruthi could only win 80% of her service games.
