Women’s Pro Cricket League begins in city

Mysuru: The four-day Women’s Pro Cricket League (WPCL), an All India Invitational T-20 Tournament began in city this morning. The tournament will be held from June 12-16 at both at SDNR Wadiyar Stadium and SJCE Grounds. WPCL is being organised to promote women’s cricket in Mysuru and State.

The main highlight of the tournament is that the matches are being played with a pink ball. A total of 8 teams ­­— MUCSC (Mysuru), Royal Phoenix Bengaluru, Western Railway, South Central Railway, Northern Frontier Railway, Sky Reachers (Vidharba), Baroda and Kerala are taking part in the tournament.

The teams have been divided into two groups and each team gets to play three league matches each day. The top 2 teams qualify for the semi-finals to be held on June 15.
