Mysore/Mysuru: Women’s World Heart Day was celebrated with the theme ‘GO RED for Women’ at Cauvery Heart and Multi-Speciality Hospital on Bannur Road here recently. The programme was conceptualised and conducted by Department of Cardiology, Cauvery Hospital.
On Feb. 19, a Heart Healthy Cooking contest was organised in which more than 70 dishes were prepared by the enthusiastic staff and doctors of the hospital. Well-known Physician Dr. K. Javeed Nayeem, international chef Jerome Emilian and entrepreneur Chaya Nanjappa were the judges, who selected winners in three categories — Healthy Main Course, Healthy Snacks and Healthy Desserts.
Consultant Cardiologist Dr. T.R. Sridhar gave a talk on importance of a healthy diet.
On Feb. 20, the valedictory function was held by holding an educative programme by Chief Interventional Cardiologist Dr. Rajagopal Jambunathan about the importance of taking care of women’s health. The talk on how to achieve optimal cardiovascular health in women was delivered by Consultant Clinical Cardiologist Dr. Vanitha. Chairman of Cauvery Hospital Dr. G.R. Chandrashekar spoke about the efforts of the hospital in educating the public about importance of preventive care.
Chief guest Salma Subhan Khan distributed prizes to the winners of cooking competition. Every participant was given a gift hamper. Earlier, Consultant Cardiologist Dr. Yatish welcomed and introduced the guests.
Managing Director of Cauvery Hospital Dr. Sarala Chandrashekar and others were present on the occasion.
