Mysuru: A workshop on ‘Assistive Technology and Music’ has been organised at Vignyan Bhavan in Gangothri campus, on Apr. 27 under the aegis of University of Mysore, University with Potential for Excellence, Drushti – Centre for Education of Visually Challenged, Manasagangothri, Mysuru.
Prof. Niranjana Vanalli, Registrar, Karnataka State Dr. Gangubai Hangal Music and Performing Arts University, will inaugurate the workshop at 10 am.
Dr. Mysore M. Manjunath, Eminent Violinist, will preside.
Programme schedule
11 am to 12 noon: Talk on ‘Karnatak Classical Music and Visually-Challenged from the Perspective of Mainstream Musicians’ by Dr. Mysore Manjunath.
12 noon to 12.45 pm: Talk on ‘Effective Use of Assistive Technology in Music for an Inclusive Musical Fraternity’ by Dr. K.T. Udaya Kiran, Department of Music (Vocal), University College of Fine Arts, UoM.
12.45 pm to 1.30 pm: Talk on ‘Problems and Challenges faced in Teaching and Learning by Visually-Challenged Musicians’ by Vid. S.R. Marutiprasad, Music Teacher, Bengaluru.
2.30 pm to 3.30 pm: Interaction with participants – All Resource Persons; Dr. Krishna Hombal, Co-ordinator, Drushti – Centre, chairs the session; 3.30 pm: Distribution of Certificates.
Prof. N. Usha Rani, Co-ordinator – Drushti and Dr. Ramesh Gandhi, Librarian and Member – Core Committee, will be present.
