Mysuru: A day-long workshop on ‘Entrepreneurship Development for SMEs and Innovation Driven Enterprises’ was held at JSS Centre for Management Studies, Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering (SJCE) in city recently.
Arjun Ranga, Chairman, CII and CEO, Ranga Rao & Sons, was the chief guest. Dr. Iboyaima Singh, Senior Principal Scientist & Head, Fruit and Vegetable Technology Department, CFTRI, Mysuru, was the guest of honour.
Utsav Agarwal, CEO, Bhoruka Fabcons Pvt. Ltd., Mysuru and Gaurav Shah, Charted Accountant, were the resource persons.
Dr. P. Nagesh, HoD, JSS CMS and Programme Convener, welcomed the dignitaries and highlighted the importance of the workshop in the present scenario.
The workshop started with a motivational talk by Dr. T.N. Nagabhushan. He called upon the students to think laterally in order to be competent at global level. He also said that each student must possess high confidence in order to face the 21st century, which is of Data Generation.
Dr. Iboyaima Singh, who spoke about the opportunities available for new generation start-ups, said that an idea along with creativity and imagination could lead to invention, which further leads to innovation. He spoke about various Sectors of Food Processing and CFTRI R&D Laboratory, which offer free technologies for those interested entrepreneurs and highlighted the importance of connect between National Laboratories — inventions, technology development and commercialisation, highlighting the role of CFTRI.
Utsav Agarwal spoke on investor focus areas and investment opportunities in entrepreneurship in terms of financial viability and business feasibility.
Dr. Bettina C. Sudhaker, Program Coordinator of the event, proposed a vote of thanks.
