Mysuru: A two-day workshop on “Bioinformatics and its application in Biological Research” sponsored by the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, New Delhi, was organised by Bioinformatics Centre of the Central Sericultural Research & Training Institute (CSRTI), Mysuru recently the premises of the Institute.
Dr. V. Sivaprasad, Director and Coordinator, Bioinformatics Centre, CSRTI, Mysuru, chaired the workshop. Dr. H.S. Prakash, Professor, Department of Biotechnology, University of Mysore and Dr. Manthira Murthy, Scientist-D & Co-coordinator, Bioinformatics Centre, CSRTI, were present.
Wide range of multidisciplinary topics like recent advance in mulberry genomics, Insilco drug design, bioinformatics tools and techniques, protein sequence and structure analysis, cloud computing etc., were discussed in detail through hands-on training.
Around 30 participants including students, research scholars and faculty from various Universities and organisations participated in the workshop and interacted with the experts.
