Mysore/Mysuru: JSS College of Nursing, in collaboration with JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research (JSS AHER), Mysuru, had organised a virtual Inter-Professional Team Training Workshop on ‘Patient Centred Care in Diabetes: An Inter-Professional Approach’ on Apr. 7.
The workshop was inaugurated by the chief guest Dr. P.A. Kushalappa, Director (Academics), JSS AHER, guest Dr. Prashanth Vishwanath, Ex-Officio Member, SIG, IPECP, JSS AHER and Special Invitee Dr. Jyothi Chakrabarty, Professor, Manipal College of Nursing, MAHE, Manipal.
R. Mahesh, Director, Medical Education Division, JSS Mahavidyapeetha, Mysuru, presided over the programme. JSS College of Nursing Principal Aswathy Devi, faculty of JSS College of Nursing and Doctors from Medicine and Dental, participated in the workshop.
The speakers of the scientific sessions were Dr. Bhagyalakshmi Avinash, Reader Orthodontic Dentofacial Orthopaedics, JSS Dental College & Hospital, Dr. Sushmitha Karkada, Asst. Professor, Manipal College of Nursing, MAHE, Manipal, Dr. Rajendraprasad, Associate Professor, Department of Medicine, JSS Medical College & Hospital and Usha M. Thomas, Associate Professor, JSS College of Nursing, Mysuru.
Speakers emphasised on what is Inter-Professional Education (IPE), Significance of Team, its dynamics, team work, role of communication, core competencies of IPE and management of Diabetes with Inter-Professional approach. Workshop ended with participants feedback.
