In view of Ganesha Festival on Sept. 7, Parisara Balaga will be conducting workshops on making environment-friendly clay Ganesha idols for school children in city on Sept. 4 and 5 between 9 am and 5.30 pm, said Balaga Founder-President Parashurame Gowda. Announcing this to media at Pathrakartara Bhavana yesterday, he said the workshop has been organised in association with Karnakata State Pollution Control Board, Mysuru Regional Office-1.
On Sept. 4, the workshop will be conducted at the park opposite Sri Yoganarasimhaswamy Temple in Vijayanagar and on Sept. 5, it will be held at the grounds near Lalitha Mahal Palace Hotel in Siddarthanagar. Over 400 students have already registered for the workshop. They will be divided into 8 groups of 40-45 students and taught to make clay Ganesha idols by expert artists, he said.
Students of JSS Educational Institutions, Shanthala Vidyapeetha, Tirumala Public School, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Sanjeevaiah School and others will participate and take home the idols made at the workshop and worship the same.
