Mysore/Mysuru: As part of Teacher’s Day celebrations, an English Workshop and Skill Development Programme were organised for teachers of both Rotary West Schools at Rotary West Auditorium in city recently under the aegis of Inner Wheel Club of Mysore West.
The programme started with Inner Wheel prayer, followed by invocation by Inner Wheel Secretary Ann Shwetha Krishna. The lighting of traditional lamp and offering of floral tributes to a portrait of Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, whose birth anniversary is celebrated as Teacher’s day, was accompanied by rendition of Sanskrit shlokas by Shwetha Krishna.
The keynote address and details of the workshop was given by Ann. Dr. Bharathi Urs. She also spoke about the relevance of Teacher’s Day and the methodology to be adopted in the workshop.
Inner Wheel Club of Mysore West President Chaya Venkatesh spoke about the importance of good Spoken English and also explained the reasons why such a workshop is organised by the Club.
Rotary West Association President PP Rtn. C.S. Ravishankar spoke on the occasion and stressed upon the need for having good language and communication skill, including the need for teachers to be good in both Kannada as well as English.
Club Treasurer PDC Jayashree M. Urs oversaw that proper procedures and protocols of Inner Wheel are followed on stage.
