Mysore/Mysuru: As part of World Audiologists Day, JSS Institute of Speech and Hearing (JSS ISH), Mysuru, had organised a Cyclothon here this morning.
JSS ISH Director Dr. N. P. Nataraja flagged off the Cyclothon from the College premises which passed through Basaveshwara Circle, Hardinge Circle, Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple at Palace North Gate, Dufferin Clock Tower, D. Devaraj Urs Road, Ramaswamy Circle, RTO Circle, Agrahara Circle and culminated at the starting point.
100 students actively participated in the event which was organised to spread awareness regarding professionals who are involved in early identification and rehabilitation of disorders related to hearing and balance in individuals’ belongings to different age groups.
A street play was staged in front of Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple and Agrahara Circle to spread awareness about the importance of audiologist’s role in hearing evaluation and rehabilitation. The street play emphasised on prevention of hearing loss among the general public.
The programme was organised and co-ordinated by Audiology Department HoD Dr. Hemanth and Assistant Professor Sanjana.
College Principal Dr. R. Suma, Professor Dr. Asha Yathiraj and other staff members were present on the occasion.
