As to the famous quote ‘Dancing is mother of all arts,’ the moment we humans are born we start communicating through movements and gestures. Every living being has its own way of expressing joy and grief through it.
KSGH Music and Performing Arts University, one of its kind in the whole of Karnataka, is designed to give academic training in performing arts like Bharatanatyam, Karnatak and Hindustani Music, Drama and Instruments at UG and PG levels.
On Monday, the 29th April on the occasion of World Dance Day, the University has organised a cultural extravaganza.
Bharatanatyam, folk, tribal and western dance forms will be presented by University students and young talented dancers from well-known dance institutions of Mysuru will also be presenting variety of dances.
Dr. Shruthi Bandopadhaya, HoD, Department of Indian Dances, Vishwa Bharati University, will inaugurate the festival. Vice-Chancellor (in-Charge) Prof. Nagesh V. Bettakote will preside over the programme. Prof. Ramamurthy Rao, Dr. Deepthi Navarathana, Prof. Rajesh (RE), Gayathri (FO) will be among the chief guests.
The programme is scheduled at 4 pm on Apr.29 at the University campus on JLB Road, Mysuru. At the same time, there will be prize distribution to the winners of annual sports and cultural competitions and South Zone Youth Fest winners.
