Mysore/Mysuru: Aimed at encouraging and motivating people to make heart health a focus, Cauvery Heart and Multispeciality Hospital, Mysuru, has organised a marathon tomorrow as part of World Heart Day (Sept. 29).
Addressing a press meet in city on Friday, Dr. G.R. Chandrashekhar, Chairman, Cauvery Heart and Multispeciality Hospital, said that on Sept. 25 the marathon will be conducted to promote importance of running, walking and exercising to fight cardiovascular disease which is on the rise in the country.
Pramoda Devi Wadiyar will flag off the marathon tomorrow at 6.30 am near Kote Anjaneyaswamy temple. Over 1,000 people from different walks of life will take part in the run which will conclude at the starting point, he said.
Dr. J. Rajgopal, Chief Consultant Interventional Cardiologist and Dr. S.C. Madhuprakash of Cauvery Hospital, who are well-known Cardiologists in the city, will speak on the healthy heart and better lifestyle management on the occasion.
M.S. Harsha, President of Mysuru Gym and Fitness Centre Owners Association and others were present at the press meet.
