Mysore/Mysuru: Coinciding with World Heritage Day celebration on Apr. 18, under the theme “Disasters & Conflicts Through the Lens of the Venice Charter,” the Mysuru Rail Museum has organised the following programmes:
1. Drawing/painting competition for school children in the Museum premises on the theme of the present challenges in heritage preservation due to disasters & conflicts on Apr. 16 between 4 pm and 6 pm in two age groups — 12-16 years and 17-22 years.
2. Round-table discussion on the theme of Disasters & Conflicts Through The Lens of The Venice Charters attended by heritage conservation experts, historians, and rail enthusiasts on Apr.18 at the Museum premises at 11 am.
The Venice Charter emphasises the importance of protecting cultural heritage during times of disasters and conflicts, recognising that these events can pose significant threats to historic sites and monuments.
