Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens will celebrate World Rhino day, on Sept. 22 (tomorrow). Rhinoceroses are large, herbivorous mammals identified by their characteristic horned snouts. Rhinoceros are recognised by their massive bodies, stumpy legs and by horns. Mysuru Zoo has Indian rhino and Southern white rhinoceros. Habitat loss and poaching for horns are the major threats for rhinoceros. In 2010, World Wildlife Fund (WWF) declared World Rhino Day to save the remaining rhinos.
