Mysuru: The Mysuru Division of South Western Railway (SWR) has organised an essay and painting competition coinciding with the celebration of ‘Paryatan Parv’ by the Union Ministry of Tourism.
The event is hosted in collaboration with other Union Ministries and State governments to focus on the benefits of tourism as also showcasing the cultural diversity of our country. The theme for both essay and painting is “Railways & Tourism”. The competition is open to general public and there is no participation fee. The essay in English should not exceed 600 words.
Interested persons can submit the essay and painting separately in a sealed cover providing full address and contact number/s and hand it over in the Office of the Station Manager at Mysuru Railway Station (Platform # 1) before 15:00 hrs. on Sept. 29 and obtain acknowledgement.
Prize money will be Rs. 2,500 each for the best essay and painting, Rs.1, 500 each for the second best and Rs.1, 000 each for the third one. A certificate will also be given to the winners.
