Writer calls for voting out disqualified MLAs

Writer and Swaraj India Party leader Devanuru Mahadeva addressing a press meet at a private hotel in city yesterday.

Mysuru: Calling upon the people to vote out disqualified Legislators in the forthcoming by-polls, writer and Swaraj India Party leader Devanuru Mahadeva said that his party will launch a campaign against all the disqualified MLAs who are contesting on a BJP ticket in the Dec.5 by-polls. Addressing a press meet at a private hotel here yesterday, Devanuru Mahadeva said that Swaraj India party will constitute two teams to campaign against disqualified MLAs.

While one team will campaign in North Karnataka region, the other will campaign in South Karnataka, he said and added that the team members will appeal to the voters to ensure that the disqualified MLAs contesting the by-polls lose their deposit.

Alleging that the disqualified Legislators sold themselves for money, he maintained that these Legislators have betrayed the trust reposed on them by the voters.

Asking voters not to be carried away by false promises that the disqualified MLAs are making, he appealed the voters to ensure that the ‘disqualified’ tag on defector Legislators remain for ever and thus teach them a lesson.

Swaraj India Party State President Chamarasa Malipatil, who also addressed the press meet, said that the by-polls is a result of BJP’s lust for power. Stressing on the need to uphold Democratic values, he  said that it was high time that MLAs who sell themselves for money be taught a befitting lesson.

KRRS leader Badagalapura Nagendra, Swaraj India party office-bearers H.A. Nanjundaswamy, Abhiruchi Ganesh, Rashmi Munikempanna, Latha Shankar, Puneeth and others were present during the press meet.
