Written exam for 1,137 Police Constables posts on Feb. 25

Candidates appearing for examination should follow dress code

Mysore/Mysuru: The written exam for 1,137 vacant posts of Police Constables (Civil) including male and female and transgender male and female candidates, in service and backlog candidates, in Karnataka State Police Department is being conducted across the State on Feb. 25 from 11 am to 12.30 pm.

The exam will be conducted in 21 centres set up in various schools and colleges in the city, where 515 rooms are readied to facilitate 10,300 candidates who have enrolled for the exam. The link of call letter will be sent by SMS to the cell phone of eligible candidates in the coming days.

Candidates appearing for the written exam should follow the dress code. Male and transgender male candidates should compulsorily wear half-sleeves shirt, possibly without collar, zip pockets and big buttons, jeans pant and trousers with multi-pockets. 

Wearing shoes inside exam hall is also prohibited, while it is allowed to wear footwear with soft soles. Candidates are restrained from wearing metal ornaments around the neck and also kadaga (wristlet).

The female and transgender female candidates are restricted from wearing tops with wide range of embroidery work, with floral designs, brooch and buttons.

They are also restrained from wearing full sleeves tops and jeans pant for the exam. Instead the candidates are advised to wear half-sleeves tops without feeling embarrassed.

They should not wear high heel footwears and shoes with thick sole while it is mandatory to wear footwear with soft sole.

They can wear mangalsutra and kalungura (toe ring), according to a press release from the  Superintendent of Police (SP).

If the candidates appear for the exam without call letter, they will not be allowed to write the exam. They should compulsorily produce the call letter with a photo ID proof.

The candidates should report at the centre 120 minutes before the commencement of the exam and the late comers will not be entertained.
