Mysuru: Senior Congress leader Y.N. Shankaregowda took charge as the Mysuru District Congress Campaign Committee President at the Congress Bhavan near City Railway Station here yesterday.
Speaking on the occasion, former MP C.H. Vijayashankar said that the people of the country are fed up with Narendra Modi Government as the NDA Government had failed to address key issues that are haunting the country.
Claiming that the people are looking at AICC President Rahul Gandhi as an alternative leader, he expressed the hope that the Congress would retain power in the May12 polls.
Highlighting the role of party workers in ensuring victory of candidates, he said that workers should set aside any differences and work for the party’s victory, as the Congress victory in the State will herald a new political era in the Country.
District Congress President Dr. B.J. Vijaykumar, Former State Women’s Commission Chairperson Manjula Manasa, MLC R. Dharmasena, former MLA M. Satyanarayana, former MP A. Siddaraju, party workers and others were present.
