Mysuru: Marking the death anniversary of Mahayogi Sri Raghavendra Swamiji of Malladihalli, District Kannada Sahitya Parishat and Mysore Yoga Association together had organised a programme at Rotary Hall on JLB Road in city on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, Pathanjali Yoga Shikshana Kendra Founder K. Keshavamurthy opined that a disease-free society could be envisaged if everyone practises yoga.
He pointed out that the ancient yoga of India had become popular across the world and added that June 21 is being observed as World Yoga Day with approval from World Health Organisation (WHO). He recalled that Sri Raghavendra Swamiji had mastered all variants of yoga and had trained thousands of Yoga enthusiasts. However, he asserted that yoga was not just an exercise for the body but its advantage should be reflected through living style, confidence, behaviour and intelligence.
District Kannada Sahitya Parishat President Dr. Y.D. Rajanna, Mysore Yoga Association President Yoga Prakash, Suyog Hospital Head Dr. S.P. Yoganna and Dr. K. Krishnamurthy Research Foundation Director Dr. K. Leela Prakash were present.
