Mysuru: Mandi Police have arrested a youth on charges of harassing a girl to love him. The youth will be produced before a Court today.
The accused is K. Naveen Kumar, a resident of Mandi Mohalla. He was following a girl working in a garments manufacturing unit and used to tease her frequently.
Though he was advised from not doing so by his family members and neighbours, Naveen continued to tease the girl, according to Police. Fed up with this, the girl lodged a complaint with Mandi Police. In her complaint, the girl has stated that the youth has been following her since three months when she goes to work and tease her. She has further stated that despite pleading him not to tease her, the youth has been forcing her to love him and though his parents and a lady in the locality advised him to stop indulging in such acts, the youth kept on teasing her.
The complaint further stated that on Nov.23 at about 10.55 am, when the girl was walking near Dattatreya Temple on B.N. Road, Naveen, waylaid her and abused her using foul language and threatened “You have to love me otherwise I will not leave you,” besides catching hold of her hand and manhandling her.
Based on the complaint, Mandi Police, who registered a case, arrested Naveen and interrogated him. He will be produced before a Court today, according to the Police.
