Mysore/Mysuru: Lashkar Police have arrested a 22-year-old youth on charges of stealing a car and have recovered the stolen vehicle from him.
The arrested is B.E. Satish of Bannaghatta village in Pandavapura taluk of Mandya district.
On Feb. 28 at about 7.15 pm, one C. Goutham Shekar had parked his Maruti Swift car (KA-11-N-5214) in the parking space opposite to Hotel RRR at Gandhi Square and had gone to a nearby silk showroom for shopping. When he came back at about 8.30 pm, he found his car missing and after searching for his car failed, he lodged a complaint at Lashkar Police on Mar. 2.
Lashkar Police, who had registered a case, arrested accused Satish at Madegowdanahalli in Pandavapura taluk on Feb. 4 and recovered the stolen car worth Rs. 7 lakh from him.
DCP (Crime and Traffic) M.S. Geetha Prasanna and Devaraja Sub-Division ACP Shashidhar guided Lashkar Inspector Suresh Kumar, Sub-Inspectors Goutham Gowda and Dhanalakshmi and staff Bopaiah, Mahadevaswamy, Lokesh, Manjunath, Chinnappa, Pratheepa and Manjunath Gadagaigola in the nabbing and recovery operation.
