Underlining the need for attracting youth towards entrepreneurship, Primary and Secondary Education Minister Tanveer Sait said that newer innovations have thrown up many opportunities for entrepreneurs. He was speaking at the valedictory of the two-day Mysore MSME Expo-2017 and fourth National Vendor Development Programme at the Institution of Engineers-India (IEI) on JLB Road here yesterday.
Stressing on the need for using the latest technology in manufacturing, he said that the Central and State Governments have launched many initiatives for promoting industrial sector.
Calling upon the entrepreneurs to utilise every scheme launched by the Government for the promotion of industries, the Minister assured all help from the State Government for boosting industrial growth.
Tanveer Sait announced that he will provide Rs. 25 lakh out of his Legislator’s fund, for the proposed Mysuru Export Centre at Vijayanagar here.
MLA G.T. Devegowda, in his address, urged the State Government to allocate minimum Rs. 100 crore in the forthcoming Budget for improving infrastructure in industrial areas.
Highlighting the need for creating employment opportunities for rural youth as agriculture has been severely hit by drought and crop loss, Devegowda underlined the need for setting up home and small scale industries.
Warning the Government of rise in unemployment in the absence of industries, the MLA said that the Expo gave a comprehensive picture of the industrial sector focussing on manufacture, research, marketing, etc.
