Mysore/Mysuru: A 22-year-old youth was electrocuted while trying to pump out overflowing water from a sump last afternoon.
He was using an electric water pump for the purpose. The victim is Mohan Gowda, son of late M.H. Siddappa and a resident of Janata Nagar. Yesterday at about 3.30 pm, Mohan, who noticed water overflowing from the underground water sump at his house, brought an electric water pump to drain out the water.
Mohan Gowda then placed the water pump on the sump and switched it on only to be instantly electrocuted.
Saraswathipuram Inspector Thimmaraju and staff conducted mahazar and shifted the body to MMC&RI mortuary, where post-mortem was conducted.
