Mysuru: A Mysuru Court has yesterday sentenced a youth for assaulting his uncle with an iron road and leaving him seriously injured.
The youth, who was sentenced by the Court has been identified as Shabaz Khan, proprietor of Royal Kaveri Handicrafts at Lashkar Mohalla here.
Shabaz in 2015, had assaulted his uncle Ilyaz Pasha, an employee at Silk Plaza on Convent Road in Lashkar Mohalla, with an iron road over business rivalry. Lashkar Police, who had registered a case in this regard, conducted investigation and had submitted a charge-sheet to the Court against Shabaz Khan along with the footage of the assault captured on CCTV camera as witness.
The Second Additional District Sessions Court Judge Vijayakumar, who heard the arguments from both sides, sentenced Shabaz to two years and six months jail term besides imposing a fine of Rs. 65,000 on Shabaz.
Though other witnesses turned hostile, the Judge pronounced the above judgment based on the CCTV footage which was submitted by the Police as witness.
Public Prosecutor H.D. Anand argued for the victim.
