Mysuru: Udayagiri Police have rescued a city youth, who was kidnapped for refusing to marry after getting engaged.
The rescued youth has been identified as Gnanesh, a resident of Sathagalli here.
It is learnt that Gnanesh was engaged to a girl from Mandya district but was postponing the date of marriage frequently and off late, he is said to have refused to marry, which had depressed the girl, she had attempted suicide.
Irked over the behaviour of Gnanesh, the relatives of the girl came over to Mysuru and held talks with Gnanesh besides persuading him to get married. As Gnanesh did not heed to the talks and refused to marry, the relatives of the girl allegedly kidnapped him in a car.
A complaint was lodged with Udayagiri Police by Gnanesh’s brother in this regard.
Udayagiri Police, who took up the investigation, traced Gnanesh at a house in Mandya district in just three hours of the crime and were successful in rescuing him.
The Police, have launched a hunt to nab the alleged kidnappers who managed to escape.
