Pandavapura: A youth, angered on seeing his father assaulting his mother with an iron road, allegedly stabbed him with a knife at Ragimuddanahalli village in the taluk on Wednesday night. The victim succumbed to injuries at K.R. Hospital in Mysuru on Wednesday midnight.
While the victim has been identified as Devaraju (45), the accused is, his son 18-year-old Appu, who has gone absconding after the incident.
Details: On Wednesday at about 7.45 pm, Devaraju picked up a fight with his wife Savithramma for petty reasons. As the wordy duel escalated, Devaraju, picked up an iron road and hit his wife resulting in her collapsing on the ground.
Meanwhile, Appu, who saw his mother collapsing on the ground, went red and allegedly stabbed his father Devaraju with a knife.
Devaraju’s brother Nagaraju, who saw Devaraju bleeding profusely rushed him to Pandavapura Government Hospital, where the injured was provided first-aid and was later rushed to K.R. Hospital in Mysuru, where he (Devaraju) succumbed to injuries around midnight.
Pandavapura Police, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar, registered a case and have launched a hunt to nab Appu, who is absconding.
