Youth nabbed for stealing electric cables

Ten cable bundles worth Rs.60,000 recovered

Mysuru:  Alanahalli Police have arrested a 23-year-old youth on charges of stealing electric cables from an under-construction house at Yeraganahalli and have recovered 10 bundles of cables worth Rs.60,000 besides seizing an autorickshaw used for the crime. 

The accused is Sagar of Raghavendra Layout in city. 

Sargar was taken into custody by the Cops at Shakthinagar junction. During interrogation, he is said to have confessed of stealing the cable bundles kept in front of an under-construction house at Yeraganahalli when he had gone to that locality to drop a passenger. Based on the information provided by the accused, the Police have recovered 10 cable bundles and have seized the autorickshaw. 

DCP B.T. Kavitha and Devaraja Sub-Division ACP M.N. Shashidhar supervised Alanahalli Inspector Hariyappa, ASI Sridhar and staff Chowdappa, Shivaprasad, Manik and Ravi in the nabbing, recovery and seizing operation, according to a press release from the PRO, City Police Commissioner’s Office, Mysuru.
