Youth power to curb chain-snatching

Mysuru:  Chain-snatchers are back in action creating panic and shock among the citizens of the city.

Karnataka Rakshana Vedike Mysuru District President K. Madesh decided to create awareness about this dangerous trend of targeting women by bike-borne chain-snatchers by roping in the youth to participate in the awareness drive.

The youth took out a jatha in Gokulam extension, then went door-to-door visiting houses in the area and asked the people, especially women, to not only be careful while walking on the roads wearing gold jewellery but also inform the Police if they found anyone moving around in a suspicious manner.

The youths felt it is not just the duty of the Police to keep a watch on the miscreants but the citizens too should exercise caution and lend a helping hand to the Cops in apprehending the chain-snatchers by noting down the registration number of the bikes involved in the crime, if and when possible.
