Youth steals gold chain posing as customer

Mysore/Mysuru: A youth, on the pretext of purchasing gold ornaments, has stolen a gold chain worth Rs. 55,000 from a jewellery store on May 30.

The youth, who came to Hemanth Associates at a mall in city on May 30, told the staff that he wanted to purchase gold ornaments. When the staff was showing him jewellery, the youth hoodwinked the staff, robbed a gold chain weighing 7.950 grams and walked out of the store without purchasing anything.

The theft came to light when the staff went through CCTV footages on June 7, following which store owner lodged a complaint at Nazarbad Police Station.
