Mysuru: City’s Young talent Harish Pandav will give a Saxophone concert tomorrow (Feb.9) at 6 pm at K.Vasudevacharya Bhavana, JLB Road, 6 pm under the auspices of Sri Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha as part of Smt. T.V. Alamelu Birthday remembrance endowment concert sponsored by Dr. Meera V. Nathan.
He will be accompanied by C.N. Tyagaraju on violin, K.Vishnuvardhan on mridanga and Vikram Bharadwaj on ghata.
An upcoming and very talented saxophone artiste, Harish Pandav is basically from a family of musicians. Initially he started learning saxophone under Vid. N. Jayaram and Vid. H.A. Ningaraj Pandav. Currently he is learning under Vidu. Gayathri Sathyanarayana in Mysuru. Harish is not only an instrumentalist but also a performing vocalist.
Academically Harish has done his M.A. in Economics from University of Mysore; M.A in Karnatak music from Dr. Gangubai Hangal Music University and was awarded Gold medal. He has completed vidwat exams conducted by Karnataka Government securing distinction.
Feb. 10 (Sunday) at 5.30 pm: S.M. Nagachetan from Bengaluru will give a Karnatak Classical vocal. He will be accompanied by Venkatesh Josier on violin, A.Radhesh on mridanga and S. Manjunath on ghata.
An Engineer by academics, Nagachetan is working as a Deputy Vice-President of Vistar Financial Services. His musical interest was kindled by his mother B.V. Shakuntala and formal learning under Vidu. Bhagyalakshmi Gundu Rao. Later for 12 years, he learnt under Belakavadi Ragaswamy Iyengar and last six years under Padma Shree awardee Vid. R.N. Thyagarajan. His music is a fine blend of Belakavadi as well as Rudrapatnam School. He has been performing regularly at various prestigious Sabhas across the State.
