Mysuru: Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens, popularly known as Mysuru Zoo, as part of World Sparrow Day (Mar.20), World Forest Day (Mar.21) and World Water Day (Mar.21), conducted awareness programme on the conservation and protection of sparrows, forests and water to the visitors of the Zoo this morning.
On the occasion, Mysuru Zoo Education Officer Sindhu spoke about the importance of conserving and protecting sparrow, forest and water for the future. Also, banners with messages on the importance of conservation and protection were put up at prominent places in the Zoo.
Meanwhile, Zoo Executive Director Ajith M. Kulakarni, speaking to Star of Mysore, said that these important days are being celebrated on three days which are inter-related and added that the Zoo was educating the visitors on the importance of these three days. He further said that educative programmes on conservation of wildlife are being conducted regularly in Mysuru Zoo for which it is getting good response and added that Conservation Talks by experts are also being conducted by the Zoo.
