Mysuru: The valedictory of the week-long Science Workshop for High School students organised by the Committee for Development of Science in Schools (CDSS), University of Mysore, was held on Saturday at Vijnana Bhavan in Manasagangothri here.
Delivering the valedictory address, Karnataka State Science and Technology Promotion Committee Director Dr. H. Honnegowda opined that Science is supported by experiments not superstitions.
He advised students to evince keen interest in practicals. He observed that the country needs skilled scientists. He asked students to maintain good physical and mental health.
UoM VC Prof. G. Hemantha Kumar opined that such workshops would kindle the interest of students in Science. He said that evincing interest would hone the skills of students at a young age. He suggested students to go beyond classroom learning to explore Science knowledge.
Students, who had presented good practical experiments, were given prizes. CDSS Chairman Dr. P. Venkataramaiah, Hariprasad and others were present.
